About me

I am Mustafa Mert Yılmaz, a Mechanical Engineering graduate who is passionate about thermal fluid systems and works as a design engineer. I have over five years of experience in cryogenic systems such as LNG, LIN, LOX, and LAR, as well as LPG and CNG. I like turning complicated, chilly problems into calm decisions and keep learning, rolling each new lesson into my calculations.

I created this space to put a few of my studies on the table with quick checks and practical guides you can use when time is tight. Engineering Tools

Heat Exchanger

Choose heating or cooling for the fluid. Provide mass flow, inlet temperature, inlet pressure, and units. Choose a target by outlet temperature or by heat duty. The solver computes outlet state, enthalpy change, process duty, and required power. Results are presented as inlet values, calculated values, and outlet conditions.

EG & Water Mixture Properties

A major use of ethylene glycol is as an antifreeze agent in coolants. The mixture of ethylene glycol with water provides additional benefits to coolant and antifreeze solutions, such as preventing corrosion and acid degradation, as well as inhibiting the growth of most microbes and fungi. Properties differs so much from clean water that heat transfer systems with ethylene glycol should be calculated thoroughly for actual temperature and solution. Provide percent by mass and specify temperature and pressure. The solver returns density, viscosity, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and enthalpy.

Thermodynamic Properties

Choose a fluid and two independent variables. Provide values for temperature & pressure. The solver closes the state from the provided inputs. Outputs include density, enthalpy, entropy, specific heat, viscosity, and thermal conductivity. All values are available in SI and Imperial units.

Joule–Thomson Valve

Choose a fluid and a throttling step. Provide upstream temperature and pressure and the downstream pressure. The calculation is isenthalpic across the valve. The tool calculates the outlet temperature after JT expansion. It also identifies phase and, when flashing occurs, reports vapor quality to resolve the final state.
